Exmoor Endurance Rally 2014

After the punishment of the Bournemouth Endurance Rally Rob had completely rebuilt the car, including a rebuilt gearbox, rebuilt suspension and a new fuel tank.

Our event got off to a shaky start as we had a big over shoot on the first hairpin ( I have got to hold my hands up it was a very very late shout, i.e. we were going past it when I called it). The next 2 tests went better and we started to settle into a rhythm and set the 5th fastest time on the third test.

After a quick lunch we were back out again only to be stuck by some bad luck….. We were held up for most of the next test losing a couple of minutes and then had a puncture 3 miles from the end of the next test losing another couple of minutes. When the event was won by only 6 seconds every second lost counts.

We then moved into the first part of the road rally section where normal service was resumed and we started to secure our result for the event. Dinner was hectic as Rob checked the car over and I plotted the last part of the road rally section.

The last road rally section went well and we finished another event, 12th overall and 1st in class, not a bad result considering the hiccups we had earlier in the day.
